Yes. Standard SIP phones and IP-PBX systems (Cisco, Avaya, 3CX) work over GCCSAT satellite with proper QoS marking. Traffic is prioritized with DSCP EF (Expedited Forwarding) to minimize jitter and latency.

GEO VSAT VoIP has 550–650ms round-trip latency, noticeable but manageable with echo cancellation. G.729 codec is recommended for satellite VoIP as it uses only 8 kbps per call. Most users adapt quickly to the slight delay.

Dramatically so. OneWeb and Starlink LEO provide 20–40ms latency, making VoIP indistinguishable from terrestrial calls. GCCSAT recommends LEO solutions for operations where voice quality is critical.
